The Golden Compass has been released on the Blu-ray format from New Line Home Entertainment. The film follows a line films such as Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia and others. It may not be the best of the bunch, but visually this is one absolutely jaw-dropping film on Blu-ray.
The Golden Compass works off of the first of Phillip Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy. The story follows the adventure of an orphan named Lyra Belacqua, played by Dakota Blue Richards. Lyra is in school while her uncle, Lord Asriel, played by Daniel Craig, heads to the North Pole to look into a magic Dust which has appeared from outer space. Read more
Medicare Costs For Cancer Care Skyrocket

Boston (dbTechno) - According to a new study, Medicare costs to treat cancer patients for five years now totals $21.1 billion. These costs are already very high, and are only going to get higher.
The new study was led by researchers Robin Yabroff of the U.S. National Cancer Insitute. The study looked at the cost of cancer for 718,907 cancer patients. These patients were then compared to 1,623,651 people whout cancer. Read more
1,000 Pound Squid Has Largest Eyes In The Animal Kingdom

Washington (dbTechno) - Scientists have been studying the carcass of a 1,000 pound squid which is the length of a school bus. After thawing out the squid, New Zealand scientists have concluded that it has the largest eyes in the world.
The eyes of the squid measured in at 27 centimeters, or 10.8 inches across. Read more
Father of LSD, Albert Hofmann Dies At Age Of 102

Washington (dbTechno) - The Swiss chemist who discovered the drug LSD, Albert Hofmann, has died at the age of 102-years old.
Hofmann is credited with the discovery of LSD, a now-banned hallucinogenic drug.

80% Of Wii Consoles Purchased For Family Use

South Korea’s First Astronaut Rushed To Hospital

Seoul (dbTechno) - South Korea’s first astronaut, Yi So-Yeon had to be rushed to the hospital after she was suffering from severe back pains. The back pains were caused by her rough botched landing aboard the Soyuz capsule during her return from the International Space Station.
Yi So-Yeon has had to go through and MRI as well as other tests. They are trying to pinpoint exactly where she got hurt and why her back is bothering her so much. Read more
Paramount Prepares First Blu-ray Titles For Release
