The Blu-ray format has received some quality films to date, especially in the comedy department. We have seen some great stuff over the past year, and Paramount has now released Drillbit Taylor. Is it good enough to add to your Blu-ray collection?
Produced by Judd Apatow (Superbad) and written by Seth Rogen (Knocked Up), Drillbit Taylor had a lot going for it to kick things off, including the inclusion of Owen Wilson as the lead character in the comedy. The story revolved around a group of kids who hire a bodyguard to take care of the bully at school, only to find out that who they end up with is just Drillbit Taylor. Read more
Rhapsody MP3 Giving Free Music Albums To Early Adopters

Washington (dbTechno) - RealNetworks’ Rhapsody has announced that their new DRM-free MP3 store will be giving some free stuff to early adopters. The first 100,000 people to sign up at Rhapsody MP3 will receive a free music album.
It has been confirmed that songs sold on Rhapsody MP3 will be priced at $0.99, while full albums will be priced at $9.99. Read more
Rock Band 2 Confirmed For Xbox 360 In September, PS3 Later

Washington (dbTechno) - Harmonix has announced that they will release a sequel to the hit video game Rock Band this year. Rock Band 2 will release on the Xbox 360 this September, followed by a release on the Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii at a later date.
The company confirmed that Rock Band 2 will be fully compatible with all of the existing Rock Band instruments, as well as all of the original Rock Band downloadable content. Read more
Google Strikes Deal With Family Guy Creator For Content

Washington (dbTechno) - Google has signed a deal with the creator of Family Guy, Seth MacFarlane, for content consisting of two-minute episodes of a new cartoon. The new cartoon is called “Seth MacFarlane’s Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy.” He will produce 50 episodes in total.
The 50 two-minute episodes will be distributed on the internet only as well as through the Adsense network. Read more
Rhapsody Supports iPod, Challenges iTunes Music Store

Washington (dbTechno) - Rhapsody, the online music provider, is making a serious push to challenge the Apple iTunes store by adding a whole new array of songs in MP3 format, available for customers to purchase. All of the MP3 files purchased through Rhapsody can be used on any device, including an iPod.
Apple iTunes, to this point, has managed to fend off every single challenger that tried to take them down. It has built up a list of rivals, and defeated just about all of them. Read more
Blizzard Officially Announces Diablo III, Plans Worldwide Release

Washington (dbTechno) - Blizzard has a major announcement to make at the 2008 Worldwide Invitational, as the company revealed that Diablo III is in the works!
The announcement was made by Mike Morhaime during the opening ceremonies of the event. Diablo is one of the most popular action RPG franchises in history, and a new entry is in development for the PC and Mac. Read more
Google Media Server Set To Provide Entertainment On Your TV

Sony Studios Is Lone Supporter Of PS3 Movie Download Service

Washington (dbTechno) - It was announced just yesterday that Sony would be launching a movie download service for their next-generation PS3 console this summer in the U.S. According to report though, Sony Pictures is the only studio actually signed on to supply movies.
The biggest question that came out of the announcement in Tokyo yesterday, beyond the price point for the movie downloads, was what actually would be offered. Read more
MySpace Joins With NBC, MSNBC For Citizen Jounalist Contest

Boston (dbTechno) - MySpace has joined with both NBC as well as MSNBC for a new citizen journalist contest. The idea behind it is that they are looking for a citizen journalist to go out to political conventions and cover everything from top to bottom.

Sony PS3 Getting Movie Download Service This Summer

Boston (dbTechno) - Sony held a meeting in Japan on Thursday morning, announcing that the PS3 will get its own movie download service starting this summer in the U.S. The movie download service will hit the PlayStation 3 in Europe and Japan at a later date.
Sony believes that the launch of the movie download service will help push the PS3 to a broader audience, providing a whole new means of entertainment to owners of the next-gen console. Read more
