Kingdom Hearts III To Debut On PS3 At TGS In Tokyo

Boston (dbTechno) – Kingdom Hearts fans have all come to glare at one moment in the future – the expected announcement of the third entry in the Kingdom Hearts series on the PS3 at the 2008 Tokyo Game Show in October.
Square-Enix has kept a tight lip when asked about any news regarding Kingdom Hearts III, but all the rumors seem to have the general idea that Square-Enix will announce the game as a Playstation 3 exclusive sometime during the Tokyo Game Show. Read more
Sony PS3 Update Causes Whole New Batch of Problems

Boston (dbTechno) – Released for only a couple hours, the newest PS3 update has caused only problems for the users and has already been removed from Sony’s servers. It has caused a variety of problems, all very frustrating to PS3 users.
The update, number v2.40, was supposed to allow Playstation 3 users access to new features such as a new user trophy collection and access to XMB during a game – this never worked out. Read more
Xbox 360 Prices Fall Around World, No Word On U.S.

Boston (dbTechno) – With rumors swirling all around about a price cut for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 consoles in the United States, the company has acted in other regions of the world. Microsoft announced today a price drop for the Xbox 360 in Japan.
They announced that the Arcade version of the Xbox 360 will now be priced at around 19,000 yen ($182), dropping the price $75. This puts the price of an Xbox 360 at cheaper then a Nintendo Wii and Sony Playstation 3. Read more

Over the years, gamers have had the pleasure of some truly enjoyable tennis experiences with games such as Top Spin, Virtua Tennis, and others. Namco Bandai has come out with their latest attempt at a tennis simulation, with Smash Court Tennis 3 on the Xbox 360.
In the past, the Smash Court Tennis series has been all-about the simulation and being as realistic as possible. Things are beginning to change a bit in this new release though, as there is a brand new Arcade mode, as well as some new mini-game training modes added in. Read more
Wii, DS Dominate, Nintendo Raises Profit Forecast

Boston (dbTechno) – Nintendo Co., makers of the Wii and Nintendo DS, have had higher than expected sales and are raising their full-year profit forecast by more then 25%.
The company anticipates that net income will increase to almost $3.8 billion by the end of their fiscal year, March 31. Read more

Sony Hit With Major Lawsuit Over Blu-ray In PS3

Boston (dbTechno) – Sony is being hit with a lawsuit over its use of Blu-ray in the Playstation 3 (PS3), as the company is being sued by Orinda Intellectual Properties, based in California.
The lawsuit states that Sony is at fault for violating their patent, filed in 1995 by Hyundai Electronics Industries, which states the creation of “an optical disk-shaped recording medium comprising a plurality of tracks”. Read more

Immersion, Microsoft Reach Settlement Over Sony’s Money

Boston (dbTechno) - Immersion has reached a settlement with Microsoft over their Xbox controllers. The settlement will have Immersion paying over $20 million to Microsoft.
