This kept people from using Windows Live Messenger, Hotmail, and other services. Microsoft has stated that they have resolved all issues though.

Many Windows Live servers ran into quite a few problems on Tuesday, which many were quick to state was due to Windows Server 2008, which was launched today by Microsoft.

This is not the case though as a representative for Microsoft stated that the glitch in the Live services had nothing to do at all with the new operating system.

Microsoft has not really come out and stated what exactly the problem was with the Live log-in issues.

All that they did state was that they have fixed all issues.

An overload caused the issues to begin, but there has been no cause for the overload as of yet.

Over 280 million people have active accounts which were impacted through the Hotmail e-mail service, as well as the instant messaging, photo sharing, and o ther services.

Microsoft put out a statement saying “We apologize for any inconvenience this particular issue has caused consumers.”

I got a new computer with Windows vista. Since the day I got it (2 months ago) I have not been able to log into windows hotmail. I cannot even open microsoft.com. I’ve spent many hours throughout the weeks talking to tech support (HP), my internet provider (sbcglobal) without resolution. Everyone tells me they’ve done all they can, in other words they cannot resolve this matter. When I tried to contact Microsoft via phone I was told that since I have a free hotmail account, tech support is not available to me. Since then I went with gmail. Suprisingly enough, I am able to log into hotmail from other computers. Best of luck to us all.
