Apple Market Share For High-End PCs Increases
May 20, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Apple has seen its market share rise once again in the computer market. Their market share for high-end PCs, those sold for over $1,000 has now increased to 66%.
This comes following a report by the NPD Group which stated that Apple retail market share rose to 14%, a huge increase.
This does not tell the whole story though, as Apple continues to do extremely well with high-end PCs priced over $1,000.
The NPD Group stated that back in January 2006, the market share for Apple in terms of high-end PCs was around 15%. This has jumped to 66% in a very short period of time.
The belief is that Apple is being helped in this department by a better distribution model than ever before, as well as the fact that computer companies such as Dell, HP, and others are shipping more and more PCs which are priced well below that $1,000 price-point.
