Intel Delays Launch Of Next-Gen Centrino 2 Laptop Chips
May 28, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Intel has been forced to delay the launch of their Centrino 2 chip sets for laptops. The reason for the delay is due to problems with the integrated graphics, as well as issues with the 802.11n wireless set-up.
The Centrino 2 chip sets are also known as Montevina and feature both Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extreme mobile processors for laptops.
Intel had plans to roll-out these next-gen chip sets for laptops starting in June.
The earliest possible launch date now though is expected to be this coming August.
It could likely take longer though before we see laptops with these chip sets making it to retail stores.
Intel has stated they are working hard to get rid of all issues and have a successful launch.
