June 20, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - Just a few hours after the Mozilla open-source web browser, Firefox 3 was released to the public, a major vulnerability was found in the form of a bug.
The security flaw was announced to the world by Tipping Point.
What they found was that there is a bug that can be exploited and allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code when someone with Firefox 2.0x or Firefox 3 clicks on a malicious link.
Tipping Point has yet to release any further details about the problem, but it has been noted that Mozilla is already working on a fix to the vulnerability.
The discovery of this bug came on the same day that Firefox 3 was released, and has since been downloaded by 10 million people in under 24 hours.
The vulnerability is said to be very serious, and could be fixed soon by Mozilla.
