China Says They Are Not Investigating Microsoft, Yet
June 20, 2008
New York (dbTechno) - The intellectual property bureau of China has come out and stated that they are not investigating or conducting an anti-monopoly probe of Microsoft just yet.
In China, a new anti-monopoly law is set to go into effect on August 1st which could allow the government to make the move and look closely into the operations of Microsoft.
All that is needed once the August 1st law goes into effect is a complaint from an institution or person to allow an investigation to be kicked off.
The new law could make it fairly easy for China to take a serious shot at Microsoft, expecially since they have over 50% market share.
The idea behind the investigation would be to help domectic software companies build their market share up to compete.
