Microsoft Set To Stop Selling Windows XP Operating System
June 30, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Today is the day that Microsoft plans to stop selling the Windows XP operating system to retailers and computer makers.
This move is not going to be an easy one for Microsoft to complete as there is still a very large group of computer users who want to see Windows XP stay around.
Needless to say, the protesters who are opposed to the end of Windows XP are trying to avoid having to go to Windows Vista.
Computer makers and retailers will be able to continue to sell whatever stock they have left of the Windows XP operating system.
Once gone though, consumers will not have the option to buy XP, unless they choose to downgrade to it.
Windows XP will continue to be sold on low-cost PCs until next January, and tech support will continue to 2014.
