Comcast Will Not Take Fault Following FCC Ruling
August 4, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Last Friday, the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) ruled 3-2 against the cable giant Comcast, stating the company violated federal policies. Comcast, however, has yet to take any fault in the matter.
The FCC ruling was handed down to Comcast, as they stated Comcast used illegal practices in how they managed their network.
They did so by interfering with customers and their ability to use peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing networks such as BitTorrent.
Comcast has yet to come out and say though that they did anything wrong, as they firmly believe that all of the practices they did followed the rules by the book.
The FCC did not hand down a fine to Comcast, but has ordered the company to stop these illegal practices by the end of the year.
The only word from Comcast is that they believe that these file-sharing networks use up too much bandwith, and can harm the online experience of other users.
