Oracle Heads To Hardware With First New Product

Oracle, which has been a leader in regards to corporate software for decades now, is going into the hardware business.....Washington (dbTechno) - Oracle, which has been a leader in regards to corporate software for decades now, is going into the hardware business.

Oracle has announced that they have teamed up with Hewlett-Packard to develop a brand new storage server.

The announcement came from Oracle Chief Executive Larry Ellison, who announced the Exadata Storage Server to the world.

This is the first hardware device Oracle is going to sell under its own brand.

It will run off of Oracle software, and will also feature an extremely fast disk-drive storage system, which will feature Intel processors.

The first hardware product by the company was shown at their keynote speech at the annual OpenWorld convention.

The new hardware combines storage servers with database servers, and will sell for $650,000.
