Microsoft Will Call The Successor To Vista, Windows 7
October 14, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Microsoft has come out an dannounced that the official name for the successor to Vista will actually be the code name, Windows 7.
The vice president of Windows products management Mike Nash confirmed this week that the next operating system is going to have Windows 7 as its official name.
He wrote on the Microsoft Windows Vista blog this week confirming the news to the world.
On the blog, he stated “Simply put, this is the seventh release of WIndows, so therefore Windows 7 just makes sense.”
The reason Microsoft did not want to go with a date rather than the number was due to the fact that they do not want to ship a new version of Windows each year.
There has yet to be a ship date given for Windows 7 as of yet, but Microsoft is hoping to get it out in late 2009 or early 2010.
