Microsoft Preparing Pay-As-You-Go Computing Service
December 30, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Microsoft is working on a brand new pay-as-you-go computing service so that consumers can only pay for hardware and software that they actually need.
A new patent application filed by Microsoft has led many to believe that we are getting closer and closer to this becoming a real reality.
The patent was filed in June 2007 and was released on December 25, 2008.
The patent shows a pay-as-you-go computing system where consumers would basically have options they could add-on for a price when they purchase a system.
The customer would be able to pick from a set of options so if there was hardware that they did not need, they would not have to have it included.
The system would be priced out based on what you need with a monthly price paying for your components.
For example, you could have a graphics card for $1 per hour or something of that nature, while a web-browser could be a bit cheaper due to it not needing as much processing power.
