Yahoo Names Replacement For Yang, Bartz Is New CEO
January 14, 2009
Washington (dbTechno) - Yahoo Inc. has named their new chief executive officer, Carol Bartz.
Yahoo was forced to make a move after CEO Jerry Yang decided to step down a few months ago.
Yang stepped down after a failed buyout deal with Microsoft, as well as a botched advertising agreement with Google Inc.
Carol Bartz is coming to the rescue though, as she is the former CEO of software company Autodesk Inc.
She was the CEO of the company from 1992 until 2006 and then became executive chairman.
She will take over immediately as the CEO and join the board of directors at Yahoo.
Many are seeing Bartz as a huge step in the right direction for Yahoo due to her experience and attitude.
