Microsoft Aims To Be King Of Search Engines With Kumo
March 4, 2009
Boston (dbTechno) - In an ever ongoing battle to improve their search capability, Microsoft have unveiled their new Kumo search program.
The company only holds 8% of search traffic, a distant third behind leading Google who hold down more than 65% of search traffic.
News of the rebranding of Windows Live Search has been floating around for quite some time now, and it appears that these rumors actually do hold merit after all.
Right now the program is in beta and is only available to use for internal searches, and will remain in beta until all the bugs are located and repaired.
The hope is that eventually Kumo will replace Windows Live Search which continues to flounder, a distant third behind both Yahoo and Google.
Many internet analysts have weighed in on the planned rebrand of Microsoft’s search engine, and the majority of opinions suggest that no matter what they do, Microsoft will never be able to compete with either Yahoo or Google when it comes to search traffic volume.
People wanting to take a sneak peak at the search engine can go to kumo.com and take it for a spin.
