Apple Expected To Set Firm Date For Launch Of Netbook
March 11, 2009
Boston (dbTechno) - A rumor is floating around that suggests that Apple is preparing to announce the launch date for their new Netbook computer.
Apple are yet to come out with a netbook, which is a pint-sized laptop system for under $500.
Insiders are of the belief that the computer will be a touch screen model, the very first of its kind.
Apple is reportedly working with Wintek Corp., to develop a touch screen in the size range of 9.7-to-10-in. range.
Tim Cook, the man who is keeping Steve Jobs’ seat warm while he is on medical leave has said in the past that he is not a fan of notebooks, might this just be his attempt at making it look like Apple is not interested in the market?
He said back in January that he did not like them because they lack power of larger computer models, and the keyboards are too small, both valid points.
The rumor is that Apple will launch their mini netbook in the second half of this year, time will tell if that is actually the case.
