Google-Powered Tool Goolag Aids Hackers

New York (dbTechno) – A hacker group, Cult of the Dead Cow, has released a new web auditing tool called the Goolag Scanner. The tool aids hackers by using the power of Google to scan web sites for any type of vulnerability.

The hacking group put out a statement saying “It’s no big secret that the Web is the platform. And this platform pretty much sucks from a security perspective. Goolag Scanner provides one more tool for Web site owners to patch up their online properties. We’ve seen some pretty scary holes through random tests with the scanner in North America, Europe, and the Middle East.”

Oxblood Ruffin, an official in the group, stated “If I were a government, a large corporation, or anyone with a large Web site, I’d be downloading this beast and aiming it at my site yesterday. The vulnerabilities are that serious.”

He stated that security holes were found on 11 high-profile U.S. government agency and lab Web sites.

Goolag Scanner is a Windows application and allows users to scan Google’s index for files on Web sites to find any type of security hole.

There is no hacking done with the program, it only checks for the security holes through the power of Google.
