This statement links all of those BitTorrent users out there to terrorist activity.

Mukasey spoke to Silicon Valley executives at the Tech Museum of Innovation.

He stated that terrorist groups are funding their operations in part from theft of intellectual property, meaning piracy.

“Criminal syndicates, and in some cases even terrorist groups, view IP crime as a lucrative business, and see it as a low-risk way to fund other activities.”

This was truly a very unique speech to say the least, as Mukasey basically put BitTorrent users on the same level as those funding terrorist activities in the Middle East and abroad.

Apparently the average BitTorrent user just trying to download an episode of The Simpsons is helping an “international terrorist looking to advance a murderous plot,” according Mukasey.
