The diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes makes Cutler dependent on insulin, and is the most serious form of the disease.

Cutler is hopeful though, as well as confident, that it will not impact his career all that much.

He stated he has been taking insulin shots since being diagnosed and has been practicing in the offseason workout program held by the Denver Broncos.

This puts Cutler in a very tough spot as he not only has to fight for a job in the NFL, but he also has to avoid letting the disease get in his way from succeeding.

Type 1 diabetes is also known as juvenile diabetes, as it is more commonly diagnosed in kids and younger adults.

According to reports, there was nothing Cutler could do to avoid it as it was a predetermined genetic condition.

He started all 16 games last season for the Broncos, and was their No. 1 draft pick in 2006.
