Gay Men, Straight Women Found To Have Similar Brains
June 16, 2008
Boston (dbTechno) - According to a new study, gay men and straight women share similar brains in regards to how their brains respond to emotion, mood, anxiety, etc.
The new study has been published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and has found that not only are gay men and straight women similar in how their brains are shaped, but gay women and straight men are similar as well.
Researchers from Sweden’s Karolinska Institute carried out the study by doing brain scans of 90 volunteers.
What they found was that the barins of heterosexual men and homosexual women were actually asymmetric, as they had a larger right side of the brain.
Scientists are still trying to determine is the shape of the brain is inherent, and if it has any consequence on sexual orientation.
