Toyota Adding Slar Panels To Next Prius Hybrid Cars
July 7, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - Toyota is getting set to start installing solar panels on the roof of their next Prius hybrid cars.
The new solar panels are going to begin to appear in the more high-end version of the hydrid cars next spring.
The solar panels, according to a report in the Nikkei newspaper, will help power a portion of the air-conditioning in the vehicle.
This will make Toyota the first automobile maker to actually incorporate solar power into a mass produced car.
The Prius hybrid cars were first released back in 1997, and have proven to be a major success for those who want to save on gasoline.
