July 17, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - A woman from Camden County, New Jersey has filed a lawsuit against orthopedic surgeon Steven Kirshner. She claims that he put a temporary tattoo on her body while she was under anesthesia.
The woman, Elizabeth Mateo, has stated that she did not even realize that the tattoo was on her body until the next morning.
She claims her surgeon rubbed a temporary tattoo of a rose on her abdomen while she was under.
Her attorney, Gregg Shiver, filed the suit in Camden County Superior Court, and seeks punitive as well as compensatory damages from Kirshner.
The surgeon has since admitted that he did place a tattoo on Mateo, but he stated he had no foul intent when doing it.
He claims he rubs tattoos on patients to help keep their spirits up during surgery.
