The identical twins were diagnosed with a very rare disease known as twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome.

What was happening was they were basically not able to properly share in the womb.

Once of the twins was getting too much of the blood supply, and was thus growing too fast.

OnĀ  the other hand the other twin was not getting enough and was dying.

This is an extremely rare disease overall but doctors tried to help them and did.

They were able to perform a rare experimental surgery on the twins while they were in the womb at the Abbott Northwestern and Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis.

Doctors used cameras as well as lasers to carry out the surgery in the womb.

They are now being called miracle twins and weighed in at 5 pounds, 9 ounces and 5 pounds, 4 ounces
