Corn Found As Key Ingredient In All Types Of Fast Food
November 16, 2008
Washington (dbTechno) - A new study has found that corn is the key ingredient in just about all types of fast food.
The study was led by A. Hope Jahren from the University of Hawaii, along with colleague Rebecca Kraft.
For the study, they looked at 480 different types of food products from fast food chains.
The fast food chains included were made up of the three major chains in the fast food industry.
They were located in Boston, Baltimore, Denver, San Francisco, Detroit, as well as Los Angeles.
They carried out the study on the fast food by looking at how it was made, and its meat origins.
What they discovered was that the animals’ diet used by fast food chains was predominantly made up of corn, as they found high levels of both carbon and nitrogen.
By feeding them corn, they are able to fatten up the cattle in a very short period of time.
Corn oil was also found in the french fries at Wendy’s locations, while McDonald’s and Burger King used vegetable oils.
With obesity continuing to spike in the U.S., along with increases in diabetes and heart disease, this is a shocking find to say the least.
Their findings have been published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Sounds pretty corny to me.
Shocking? Why? How are corn feed and corn oil implicated in obesity, diabetes, and heart disease? Obesity and its attendant diseases are the result of overconsumption of calories, and it wouldn’t make a dime’s worth of difference if another oil was substituted for corn.
Imagine feeding corn to cows! What do you think we do with some 12 billion bushels of corn produces each year? And how do you link obesity in inactive butts to corn - what a stretch. Take all the products out of the grocery store that contain some corn and your shopping cart won’t be very full on your next trip.
American eat about 1500 lbs of corn a year. This unprocessed corn costs less than $100 a year or about 25 cents a day. That why it is everywhere.
well corn isn’t good for the cows either, its too acidic for most multi stomach animals to digest properly and can cause them to get ulcers. this will make them more likely to get sick, causing the factory farmers to throw yet more antibiotics and hormones into the feed, trace amounts of which are ingested by you every time you get a big mac attack.
Corn itself is a man modified plant anyways, and was never part of the natural diet for the common cow in it’s current form, especially no in the quantities they are fed it. how healthy would you be if you where fed only one thing your whole life with meds and roids mixed in it to keep you alive? and no, not pizza, think more like nothing but say apples and nothing but.
I’m no tree chomper, but allot of what they do for “cheap” food is really quite disgusting and insane. You’re better off going out an baging an elk or boar for dinner.
