Justice Ginsburg Has Surgery, Fights Pancreatic Cancer
February 6, 2009
Boston (dbTechno) - Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg went through surgery to treat her pancreatic cancer she has been fighting.
She went through the surgery on Thursday at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
She was diagnosed with early-stage pancreatic cancer according to the Supreme Court.
It is believed that the disease was caught early enough that she will be just fine.
An annual check-up with her doctor late January helped them find the lesion.
The check-up was carried out at the National Institutes of Health.
A CAT scan she went through revealed the cancerous tumor in her pancreas.
It is believed that she is going to have to be in the hospital for 7 to 10 days.
As of right now though, it appears that she is going to make a full recovery.
