Bode Miller Crashes Out Of Slalom
When it comes to the Olympic Men’s Slalom event, American skier Bode Miller will not be in the medal hunt. After only eight seconds on course for his final run, Miller lost control and skied off the course, thus ending his bid to make Olympic history as the only man to win four Alpine medals at the same Olympics.

Miller has been in the mix in every event he has participated in at these games, but will not be a factor today. In his first run of the day, he straddled the fifth gate on course and thus was unable to continue. “I just hooked a tip and it’s obviously disappointing when you’re fired up and you’re skiing well and everything’s there,” Miller said. “You go out of the gate with the intention of absolutely maximizing every turn.”

As for his future in the sport, Miller has hinted not too long ago that he is interested in taking up the sport of tennis. He is a very good all round athlete, but this pill will be very hard for him to swallow. “It’s the Olympics and we knew it was going to be challenging, and we knew it was going to be tough and everyone’s skiing 100 percent,” Miller said.

In this Olympics, Miller has won gold in the super-combined, silver in the super-G and bronze in downhill.
