Eastern Turkey Rocked by 6.0 Magnitude Earthquake

An earthquake measuring a magnitude of 6 has been reported in the country of Turkey.

This is the second quake to hit the country this year, but this one caused major damage and fatalities.

The quake struck the eastern part of the country early this morning and so far 57 people have been confirmed dead.

The earthquake hit in Elazig province, destroying mud huts and buildings, and resulting in people fleeing for cover.

Tremors were also felt in the nearby provinces of Tunceli, Bingol and Diyarbakir.

This is the third major earthquake to be reported spanning the last two months.

The earthquake in Haiti killed hundreds of people, and the recent 8.8 quake in Chile also resulted in many fatalities.
