Jesus Christ Depicted Having Sex

The Lord Jesus Christ may not have engaged in sex during his time on earth but an art exhibit showing the holy one getting it on is not going over well.

“The Misadventures of the Romantic Cannibals” is the name of the forsaken piece of art work, painted by California artist Enrique Chagoya.

The piece is a fixture at a museum in Colorado and drew up to 50 protesters who picketted outside the building, praying aloud.

“This is not art, it’s smut, pure and simple,” Ronald Minto, one of the protesters, told The Denver Post. “This is a museum, not an X-rated book store.”

“It is visual profanity,” Linda King, an art gallery owner, told the Loveland Reporter-Herald. “It disgraces the God of all creation.”

“My intentions are not to offend anybody,” Chagoya said. “The main intention of my work is to express my personal concerns about religious institutions, not about the actual religious beliefs, which I respect.”

The exhibit is set to run at the museum until November 28.
