Favorite Southern Dish Honored on National Fried Chicken Day
Every Southern cook has his or her own special recipe for fried chicken.
The dish has become so popular nationwide that it now has its own National Fried Chicken Day celebrated in 2012 on Friday, July 6.
Pieces of raw chicken are coated in seasoned batter and deep fried until tender and usually accompanied by such delicious side dishes as mashed potatoes, corn on the cob and freshly baked biscuits.
Some families celebrate National Fried Chicken Day by dining out at the food chain that made fried chicken famous, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), while others pull out their favorite recipe and fry up a batch at home.
As Kat from Twitter points out, it’s a good time for chicken lovers!
today is international chicken wing day, july 6 is national fried chicken day & july 29 is national chicken wing day. seems necessary…
