When Pizza Hut Canada wanted to celebrate reaching 100,000 fans on its Facebook page, it created a limited edition of Pizza Hut perfume as a publicity stunt after asking page visitors if they loved the aroma of opening a box of pizza delivered hot from the oven and wondered if that smell would work as a perfume.
“Introducing Pizza Hut Perfume – a brand new fragrance from Pizza Hut Canada boasting top notes of freshly baked, hand-tossed dough,” reads the press release from Pizza Hut and Yum! Brands.
When thousands of fans said they wanted to know where they could buy Pizza Hut perfume, a limited edition was created, with more than 100 fans winning a bottle of the very unusual fragrance.
A press release put out by Pizza Hut’s parent marketing company accompanying the release of the limited edition perfume launch joked that the new fragrance had topnotes of freshly baked hand-tossed dough.
“The limited edition perfume was designed to commemorate Pizza Hut Canada reaching 100,000 Facebook fans,” the release reads. “Only 110 bottles were produced and shared with lucky Facebook fans who won a bottle by being among the first to share their desire for Pizza Hut perfume.”
Pizza Hut has been known to push the envelope of creativity in the past, offering a pizza crust incorporating hot dogs in its European market and a cheeseburger crust pizza in Asia.

Will we be seeing Pizza Hut perfume in department stores any time soon? According to D’Cruz, only time will tell.
“For now, we’ve only produced 110 bottles of Eau de Pizza Hut, but who knows what the future has in store,” says D’Cruz. “The good news is people can enjoy the great smell of fresh Pizza Hut pizza any day of the week by ordering one of our signature crust pizzas.”
