New Craze Sweeping UK: Tittooing

The perfect body doesn’t come easily. For years, women have waxed, threaded, polished, scrubbed and done many other painful procedures to try and achieve this perfection. Now, there is a new, painful craze sweeping the UK.

Women across the UK have begun using a procedure known as tittooing, or nipple tattooing, to darken, enlarges or defines nipples. The procedure, originally designed for use in breast reconstruction, is considered “semi-permanent” and requires regular top ups. Gail Proudman, nipple clinician out of Merseyside, sees more than three women a week and has reported an increase in younger women.

She explains the phenomena: “A lot of people want their nipples made darker. It’s the fashion. Some people think theirs are too pink or their boyfriends want them done. I think sometime they are doing it because they are conscious of them being pale and they think it’s fashionable to have dark nipples… so they can go topless and not be embarrassed, or when they’re in a changing room and getting changed. They can go on holiday in front of their partners…and not be conscious of their body.”

The procedure, which is quickly catching up to such crazes as vajazzles and ****** jobs, takes between one and three hours to complete. Top ups are required every 12 to 18 months. One can expect to pay around £1,200 for both nipples.
