Anyone who has had a craving for a McDonald’s breakfast sandwich after 10:30 a.m. will be encouraged to hear that the fast food giant is considering offering its popular breakfast fare throughout the day.
In light of recent reports that earnings were down and that more customers than ever were dissatisfied with the once very popular home of the Golden Arches, McDonald’s company officials have been discussing a lot more than expanding breakfast service hours. The company president also announced that frequent diner programs and even delivery service have been put on the table for review.
McDonald’s admits that it has already been testing the success of delivery service at certain undisclosed U.S. locations in addition to several European markets in which McDonald’s restaurants don’t offer the convenience of drive-thru pick up. Although chain officials had announced 7 years ago it was considering a 24/7 breakfast menu offering, they never delivered on that promise.
But with fast food competition more fierce than ever and customers having more choice than ever, McDonald’s is waking up to the reality that it must change to suit customer preferences. New menu items currently tested in limited markets include Blueberry Pomegranate Smoothies and Egg White Delights.
