In a classic David vs. Goliath challenge, two-year-old Titus took on 41-year-old 7’1″ Shaquille Rashaun O’Neal AKA “Shaq” in a free-throw challenge.
O’Neal, who won four NBA championships in his career, accepted the free-throw challenge: hit as many hoops as possible in half a minute.
The make the challenge a true apples-to-apples comparison, the hoop was scaled to size for the much younger and shorter Titus and was placed six feet away from him.
In the 30-second shooting spree, Titus netted eight balls which is an average of one shot every 3.75 seconds – an impressive feat for anyone much less a two-year-old. More to the point, the toddler actually fired off sixteen shots during the spree with his father passing him each successive ball. He hit nine but the ninth ball was after the buzzer sounded and did not count.
However, when the time came for Shaq to shoot, the NBA legend managed to fire off only ten shots hitting zero. During his shooting spree, his lack of aim prompted the hilarious quip by Kimmel that his free-throw shooting was “just like old times” – O’Neal was known for poor free throw percentages during his career.
Here’s a video of Shaq and 2-year-old Titus competing in a shooting contest.
