The Dunkin’ Donuts corporation has made headlines recently due to an altercation that had occurred at one of the franchise’s stores.
This issue, which can easily be classified as something small, was blown out of proportion by one disgruntle customer.
The customer, who has been identified as Taylor Chapman, took it upon herself to express her frustration about not receiving a guarantee that was company policy.
Dunkin’ Donuts policy states that if a customer isn’t given their receipt, they are entitled to free purchases at the Dunkin’ Donuts store. The 27 year old female who didn’t get her receipt the previous day, came back the next day to claim her free food. In the process of doing so, she went on racially charged tirade aimed at one cashier and the employee who failed to give Champman her receipt the previous day.
While verbally assaulting the workers, Chapman also filmed a video and had later posted it on Facebook. The video of Taylor Chapman’s revisit to Dunkin’ Donuts has gained a lot of attention. A lot of people have expressed their views on the situation questioning Chapman’s mental stability. Others have simply sympathized with the employees and commended their resolve.

“How the heck was this young lady raised?? She is so horrible !! I am so sorry these 2 workers had to go thru this. I heard the young man wants to be a doctor. I hope every opportunity presents itself to make that happen. I would like to think this Taylor chick will learn a lesson from this but I really doubt a self entitled b%%tch like her will.”
This woman is clearly bi-polar. If she isn’t? Then… She is a symptom of all that is wrong with this world. She “called her lawyer”? She is this upset over this incident? People like her are why this country is going to sh*t. Get angry about something that actually matters.
A man identified as Carl from Austin/San Antonio, Texas, said on Indiegogo.com that he was “horrified” by the treatment of the two Dunkin’ Donuts employees.
“More than horrified, I was disgusted and outraged. And I can’t believe they kept it together, so well. Most of us have had to deal with a difficult customer at one point in our career, but I’d say most people’s breaking points would have been reached by this.
“I read that Abid is 18, recently graduated, and has aspirations of being a doctor. I haven’t seen what Nithi’s aspirations are, but I wanted to counteract this swarm of negativity that happened to these these two, by giving them a foot up in pursuit of their education and careers,” Carl wrote.
Dunkin’ Donuts spokeswoman Jessica Gioglio said in a statement that the company was proud of the store’s employees for the way they handled the ugly incident.
“We are aware of the video and the situation that occurred at the Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant located in Fort Lauderdale,” Gioglio said. “We commend the franchisee’s crew member for handling this difficult situation with grace and patience. We believe this is a powerful example of great customer service and the respect our crew members have for our guests.”
“The franchise owner of the restaurant has reached out to the crew member privately to express and demonstrate his personal appreciation,” the statement said, without elaborating on whether the worker was rewarded.
