Thunderstorm Leads To Major Flooding in South Florida Streets

The weather in South Florida started off sunny on Saturday, February 28, 2015. However, this beautiful day very quickly turned into a gloomy one. The National Weather Service issued flood advisories in multiple areas in South Florida. The water was reportedly a foot high in some areas, and it was impossible for cars to pass. Many cars were stalled because of the massive flooding. Many places in South Florida received several inches of rain.

A driver named Maria was one of the people who happened to get caught in the heavy flooding. She stated that her call stalled while behind a Publix Supermarket. Some water also got inside of her car. Fortunately, she was able to get out of her cars thanks to the Miami Police and Good Samaritans.

Many people posted pictures of the flooding on their Twitter accounts. Sheldon Fox, who is a news reporter for 7news, posted a video of his flooded garage. It continued to rain heavily in the South Florida area until the early evening hours. The good news is that the weather forecast for Sunday was much better. Meteorologists were predicting that the high in the South Florida area would be in the 70s or 80s.
