$30 hot dog new york city

Like hot dogs? How much would you pay for one?

A hot dog from a New York City street vendor can cost up $30 if you’re a tourist.

One hot dog vendor located near the World Trade Center is reportedly sizing up tourists and charging them up to $30 while charging New Yorkers $3, according to NBC New York.

NBC reports that the high and variable prices have led to fights and in one, case a customer leaving a bitten hot dog behind in protest.

The news fittingly follows yesterday’s trending Twitter hashtag, #HowToSurviveNYC, which offered advice on the horror of empty subway cars and rental apartments.

In this case, this New Yorker’s survival tip is to avoid eating street meat altogether.
