Microsoft Drops Xbox 360 HD DVD Player Price To $129.99

February 6, 2008

EAMicrosoft has officially dropped the price of the Xbox 360 HD DVD Player from $179.99 to $129.99New York (dbTechno) - Microsoft has officially dropped the price of the Xbox 360 HD DVD Player from $179.99 to $129.99.

The new price will go into effect immediately in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

This has sweetened the deal greatly for Xbox 360 owners looking for an HD DVD player.

This is because the 5 free HD DVD offer is still valid.

This means that for $129.99 you get the official Microsoft Xbox 360 HD DVD player, along with 5 free HD DVD movies, not bad at all!

This could be a sign of Microsoft really trying to push HD DVD player sales to get a larger installed user base to compete with the Blu-ray format, which is winning thanks to the fact that the Sony PS3 has a built-in Blu-ray player.
