The cartoon series Jakers! has received a release on DVD from Paramount. The PBS Kids cartoon has been released in a set which includes four of the Emmy Award-winning episodes from the cartoon. Jakers! Treasure Hunt on Raloo Farm is a great release which the kids will surely enjoy, with some fun entertainment and quality stories to go along with it.

All of the characters from the show are here in these episodes including Piggley Winks, Ferny the Bull, Dannan the Duck, and others.

Jakers! Treasure Hunt on Raloo Farm is broken up into four episodes. The first episode is called Treasure Hunt. This episode has Mr. Winks laying out a treasure map for Piggley and friends. They follow the treasure map in an enjoyable episode which teaches kids about chores and being neat.

The second episode is Our Dragon’s Egg, which has Piggley and friends trying to rescue an egg. They keep the egg safe and have quite a surprise when it hatches.

The third episode is called Dannan Does A Jig, as Dannan’s grandma teaches them how to dance. Kids who enjoy music and dancing will find great enjoyment out of this episode.

The fourth episode, Growing Pains, has Piggley wishing he was a grown-up. Once he is given responsibility though, he sees it is not as fun as he thought.

The episodes feature some fun voice acting, led by Mel Brooks who does the voice of Wiley the Sheep. Others who voice the cast include Melissa Disney, Maile Flanagan, Nika Futterman, Peadar Lamb, Tara Strong, Russi Taylor, Pamela Adlon, and Charles Adler.

The show looks great on DVD as the animation and colors really pop off of the screen. The CGI cartoon looks fantastic with great scenery as well. Kids are sure to enjoy seeing all of the animals in these settings.

The extras are pretty slim which is expected. There is a read-along story, as well as a few features with real-life storytellers. Nothing too over-the-top, but at this price point that is just fine.

Jakers! is a very fun cartoon for kids and one which teaches some educational points while still being very funny, enjoyable, and clever. These four episodes are solid examples of why young kids love this show. At the price point of $14.99, the youngsters out there are sure to love Jakers! Treasure Hunt on Raloo Farm.

Episodes: 8.0 A great set of four episodes here for kids, plenty of enjoyment to be had, and educational too!

Audio: 7.0 An average clear audio track, all sounds good.

Special Features: 6.0 The one short extra will not cut it, lacking in this department.
