Boston (dbTechno) – It has confirmed that Mario Kart Wii will not feature voice chat for online play on the Nintendo Wii. The highly-anticipated game, according to Nintendo of Europe, will feature text chat.
Nintendo of Europe stated that the game is going to allow gamers to text chat.
“You can create rooms for friends to join and even text chat while you’re waiting for other racers. The online function of Mario Kart Wii also lets you join a friend’s race in action and be a spectator until the next course launches.”
Nintendo has been pushing the online portion of Mario Kart Wii quite a bit but gamers have stated that they are disappointed that the game may not feature voice chat.
With the announcement of Nintendo of Europe that text chat is supported, that pretty much rules out any chance of having voice chat in Mario Kart Wii.
This is totally lame. I feel like Nintendo has been shorting us on making perfect games. Every single game has one stupid flaw because Nintendo was too lazy or “didn’t feel like they needed it.”
Well i love Nintendo, but come on. ALL online games need voice chatting. Simple as that. How else can you talk shit to a player during a race?
Thats real bad news, I was looking forward to voice chat too
This is retarded. I am starting a boycott with all my friends to boycott Mario Kart when it comes out…until they release an update for it that will support voice chat.
I am a Nintendo fanboy, and this really pisses me off. Nintendo needs to get in the game, and let it be voice chat compatible. It would take them about 5 seconds to release a console update to support bluetooth headsets, I just don’t understand the problem.
