Nintendo Responds To Wii Price Cut Rumors

Nintendo has come out and responded to the rumors that the Nintendo Wii would be receiving a price cut in Europe, as well as possibly the U.S. and Japan.Boston (dbTechno) – Nintendo has come out and responded to the rumors that the Nintendo Wii would be receiving a price cut in Europe, as well as possibly the U.S. and Japan.

Nintendo has come out and stated that the reports of a Nintendo Wii price cut are simply rumors, as there is nothing concrete.

The rumor-mill was hard at work this week though when a French site reported that the Nintendo Wii bundle with Wii Sports may see a price cut from EUR 249 down to EUR 149.

The idea behind the story was that Nintendo would lower the price and then release a Nintendo Wii bundle with Mario Kart Wii included for EUR 199.

Nintendo has stated it is simply rumor and speculation though, no truth to them at all.

  • why would they need to lower the price when they sell out the instant the shops recieve them?

That makes little sense because the reason to lower a consoles price is to sell more consoles but since they sell out almost instantly in Europe then there is no consoles to sell.
