Microsoft Touts New Content Partners, DRM For Silverlight

Microsoft announced new content partners for its Silverlight technology on Monday, including Yahoo Japan.  They also announced details on the upcoming DRM technology for the platform. Microsoft was out and about on Monday touting the use of the Silverlight multimedia technology.

The new content providers include Terra Networks Operations, SBSi, MNet, Yahoo Japan, Madison Square Garden Interactive, Tencent, and Abertis Telecom.

The new content will vary greatly from on-demand content ranging from entertainment, sports, etc.

Microsoft revealed detais about Silverlight DRM as well, stating it will be compatible with Windows Media DRM 10 content.

The idea behind Silverlight DRM is to protect content that is streamed on-demand, or live.
