WWE The Life and Times of Mr. Perfect
DVD Review
WWE Home Video
Released: September 4, 2008
The Life and Times of Mr. Perfect is the latest DVD release from WWE Home Video, and follows, a man who I believe, is one of the best wrestlers of all-time. Mr. Perfect, Curt Hennig, was a joy to watch as I was growing up as a wrestling fan, with great in-ring work, great mic work, and more. Though he is not with us anymore, WWE has done a great job of putting out a documentary to show the world just how perfect, he truly was.
Curt Hennig made a major impact when he made it to the WWE, bringing an amazing level of in-ring talent, as well as an incredible array of talent he used on the mic in interviews, commentary, etc. He has some stellar matches with the likes of Bret Hart and others, with every match being as close to perfect as possible.
The WWE is set to release this new DVD on Mr. Perfect on September 9th, and is a 2-disc DVD set which is stacked with a great documentary, matches, and more.
The documentary itself was the first thing I checked out on the DVD release, and I was not disappointed. You get a lot of personal thoughts from Curt’s father Larry, as well as his son, and one of his best friends, Wade Boggs.
There are a lot of fun stories told here, beyond just the usual tidbits of telling his story as a wrestler. Some of the stuff added in focuses on his family life, the Mr. Perfect vignettes, and much more.
By the end of the documentary you really are going to have a whole new level of appreciation for Mr. Perfect. I found myself trying to walk around and whack the gum as it came flying out of my mouth later in the day. Needless to say, it isn’t easing being perfect.
The matches featured in this 2-disc DVD set are fantastic as well, as you get some great matches with Bret Hart, a 60-minute match which ended in a draw with Nick Bockwinkel, a match he had with Hulk Hogan, and more. On a personal note, Curt Hennig actually made Hogan look like he could wrestle!
I would highly recommend this DVD release for wrestling fans, as it features some fantastic matches, as well as a great documentary that is simply…perfect.
I loved the documentary, the presentation all of it. A fitting tribute overall to one of the greatest entertainers pro wrestling has ever known.
Content: 9.5 A great documentary supplemented with some fantastic matches, great great stuff!

Final Score: 9.2
