Coming to America
DVD Review
Paramount Home Entertainment
Release Date: February 3, 2008
Paramount Home Entertainment is digging up some 80s hits with a new set of I Love The 80s releases. Coming to America, starring Eddie Murphy, has hit the DVD format yet again as part of these releases.
Coming to America stars Eddie Murphy and was originally released back in 1988. The film is based around Murphy, who is an African prince who is spoiled beyond belief to say the very least.
He ends up coming to New York to try and find a bride, and brings his friend along with him (Arsenio Hall).
Eddie Murphy has always been a tremendous talent, as seen in many of his works throughout his career.
That is as evident as ever in Coming to America, which is a film that any Murphy fan will absolutely fall in love with if they have yet to see it.
Having not seen this one in quite a few years, I was laughing throughout it as there are really some quality comedic moments to be had.
A bonus musical CD is thrown in as unfortunately the only extra.
Coming to America, this version at least, is lacking extras, but is worth checking out if you have not yet bought it on DVD.
Film: 8.2 Very funny stuff.
Video: 7.8 A quality video transfer.
Audio: 7.5 The audio is clear enough.
Extras: 1.0 Only the bonus CD, nothing more.
Final Score: 6.8
