High School Musical 3 Senior Year
DVD Review
Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment
Released: February 17, 2009
Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has put together a great package for High School Musical 3 Senior Year on the DVD format with the students of East High ready to rock your home theater.
High School Musical 3: Senior Year marks the third and final installment in the highly-popular Disney franchise which features the Wildcats at it again.
The first two films were huge hits on the Disney Channel, with this being the first to actually go to theaters.
I was a bit skeptical going into High School Musical 3, especially with the move to the big screen, but to be honest with the songs as catchy as ever, along with the dancing and the fun story, you will enjoy yourself if you are a fan of the franchise.
The plot here really is not all that complex, the seniors at East High are set to graduate, and you have all of your favorites back with Troy (Zac Efron), Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens) and the rest of the crew all onboard.
Even if you have never seen the first two films, you are going to enjoy High School Musical 3. This is like Grease for a whole new generation of young movie fans, and it is going to be something that will stay with us for years to come.
The audio and video transfer for this DVD release was very impressive as the video was presented in 1.85:1 aspect ratio, while the audio was presented in Dolby Digital 5.1.
The entire transfer from a video and audio perspective was a treat to see as the film really could not have looked much better on DVD. The colors were as vibrant as can be and each track rang loud and clear over my home theater.
The DVD release features some great extras as well as a digital copy of the film included as a nice throw-in.
The extras consist of some deleted scenes, bloopers, the cast talking about prom night, sing-a-longs, and plenty of other fun stuff fans will enjoy!
High School Musical 3 Senior Year is a must-own on DVD as the release packs some great value as the film is a joy to watch, and the extras are highly-entertaining. If you were a fan of any of the films, go and pick this one up!
Content: 8.5 Arguably the best of the 3 movies, very catchy tunes and a fun story to be had.
Video: 9.5 Couldn’t look much better on DVD!
Audio: 9.5 Ditto, expect that it couldn’t sound much better!
Extras: 9.0 A very nice set of extras included, and the digital copy is a nice throw-in!
Final Score: 9.2
