Boston (dbTechno) – Following Facebook’s blundering privacy policy episode, the company is doing something which will hopefully restore their users faith in the service.
The company have opened up the floor for comments pertaining to how they manage their privacy issues, and are looking for input from users.
Founder Mark Zuckerberg took a lot of heat after it was revealed that Facebook kept user data even after they deleted their profiles from the site.
He says that by allowing Facebook users to contribute comments as to the company’s privacy policy, it will make them feel more a part of the process.
“We do not own user data, they [users] own it. said Zuckerberg.
Users can comment, leaving their own ideas about governing privacy issues, and can also vote on other comments that are made by other users.
Facebook will act on a topical item of concern when more than 7,000 comments are made on it.
