Wayne’s World 2
Blu-ray Review
Paramount Home Entertainment
Released: May 12, 2009
Wayne’s World 2 was the follow-up to the hit original, once again starring the same two comedians who brought us the 1990s classic.
Wayne’s World 2 has been brought onto the Blu-ray format, but unfortunately fails to capture the same magic as the original.
Sequels are always popular as it is believed that they will be able to be just as successful as the original, but that was not the case here.
Unfortunately, Wayne’s World 2 ended up just being too repetitive for its own good, with no originality and none of the original’s magic.
Wayne’s World 2 does look very strong on the Blu-ray format, just as the original movie did as it is presented in full 1080p in 1.78:1 aspect ratio. Wayne’s World 2 offers very strong visuals.
The same can be said for the audio as it is presented in a Dolby TrueHD mix which does a great job of not only allowing the dialogue to remain crystal clear, but the soundtrack to immerse you in the action.
Extras here are disappointing, as you only get a commentary track with director Stephen Surjik, as well as an Extreme Close-Up which features the cast talking about the film and such.
Wayne’s World 2 is not worth picking up on Blu-ray due to the fact that it just simply does not have the same charm of the original, it is just lacking all around.
Film: 5.0 An absolutely awful sequel.
Video: 9.0
Audio: 9.0
Extras: 6.5 A couple of extra, not much though.
Final Score: 6.0
