Confessions Of A Shopaholic
DVD Review
Touchstone Home Entertainment
Released: June 23, 2009
Confessions Of A Shopaholic is set to storm the malls, hoping to attract consumers with its originality, and humorous antics on DVD.
Confessions Of A Shopaholic is a movie that I went into without much hype to be quite honest. It was not a film that I was anticipating to be good, but I was dead wrong.
The flim stars Isla Fisher, who plays the role of a fashion writer, Becky Bloomwood.
Needless to say, to get ahead she ends up landing a job as a writer who covers the topic of personal finance, but needless to say, it is not something she knows much about.
Regardless, the column becomes a hit, and she ends up falling for her boss, played by Hugh Dancy.
The way in which the flim unravels is a lot of fun, making it a romantic comedy which fans of movies such as Legally Blonde or 27 Dresses will really connect with, worth checking out.
The DVD release also comes with some pretty decent bonus features, starting out with a set of deleted scenes, as well as bloopers, and a music video by Shontelle, “Stuck With Each Other.”
An included digital copy is packed in on the second disc.
Confessions Of A Shopaholic is the type of movie that would make for a great popcorn flick for a group of girls, no matter the age. It is funny, original, and well worth picking up on DVD.
Film: 8.4 A very well-thought-out and executed romantic comedy.
Video: 9.0 Nothing to complain about on DVD with this video transfer, crisp and clear.
Audio: 8.5 The audio is nothing to write home about since it is a romantic comedy, but dialogue is of high quality.
Extras: 7.0 The biggest and most worthwhile extra is the included digital copy.
Final Score: 8.4
