Released: July 2009

Paramount Home Entertainment has put out a very strong popcorn flick on Blu-ray with Echelon Conspiracy.

Echelon Conspiracy stars Shane West, Ed Burns, Ving Rhames, and Martin Sheen with a story that is definitely out there to say the least.

Upon first seeing the initial few minutes of the film, I immediately thought of the Shia LaBeouf film Eagle Eye, as there were a lot of similarities here to that one.

This is not a half-bad movie at all for fans of films such as Eagle Eye as the action-packed story is told through a great cast of characters that lay it all out there on-screen.

The star here gets a phone call that he can have unlimited wealth, but needless to say he is pulled into a murder plot that he could have never dreamed up.

A very respectable action-packed conspiracy film to say the least, a great popcorn flick.

The video quality as well as the audio quality of this release are both quite strong considering it is straight-to-Blu-ray.

The video is presented in a crystal clear 1080p transfer, while the audio is presented in a nice Dolby TrueHD track that makes good use of both the front and rear channels.

The only bummer here is the fact that the movie was not given any love in the extras department, but it is strong enough that I will recommend it for fans of films such as Eagle Eye.

Film: 7.8 A very good popcorn flick with great action.

Video: 9.0 Looks great on Blu-ray.

Audio: 8.7 No complaints, a nice mix.

Extras: N/A Disappointing

Final Score: 7.5
