Woman Killed After Country Music Stage Collapses in Alberta
August 2, 2009

Boston (DbTechNo) - It is being reported that 1 person has died and many others have been injured after a stage collapsed during the Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, Alberta.
The event was to celebrate Canadian country music, but tragedy struck just as country singer Billy Currington was wrapping up his set.
1 woman is dead, and many others have been taken to hospital with some of them having life-threatening injuries.
High winds are being blamed for the stage collapsing but according to previous reports, there are not people trapped beneath debris as was originally reported.
When it came to storm warning, those in attendance said that there was no warning of what was about to happen.
“Lightning, hail, thunder . . . it looked like a tornado,” said country singer Jessie Farrell. “Debris was flying everywhere.”
“One individual is confirmed deceased and fifteen others were injured. All of the injured have been transported to hospitals. Decisions regarding the continuation of the jamboree will be made at a later time,” said Camrose Police Chief Darrell Kambeitz.
