Infinity Ward redefined the Call of Duty franchise back in 2007 with the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare, and they have done it yet again with Modern Warfare 2.

The original CoD Modern Warfare was perfection from both a single-player and multi-player standpoint, proving to withstand the test of time with great online play that was popular on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network right up until the release of this latest entry, the highly-anticipated sequel, Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is hands-down the best shooter of the year, and arguably the best shooter of this generation of consoles.

The game has taken everything from the original Modern Warfare and improved upon it tenfold.

The story is fun, and follows the storyline from the previous Modern Warfare game, only five-years later.

This makes for a great continuation of the story, as Russia invades the U.S. borders without the UN getting in the wya.

What this sets up are some amazing scenarios that will have you on the edge-of-your-seat in typical Call of Duty fashion.

The atmosphere that this game sets up will absolutely blow you away.

This is the most impressive-looking shooter of all time in my honest opinion, as the level of detail put into the environments, the character models, and everything between is atonishing.

The game runs silky smooth with some fantastic texture-work and little visual effects that really throw you right into the middle of the action.

The audio is equally as impressive with fantastic voice work, as well as sound effects. If you are playing this game with surround sound on, you will feel like you are watching one killer blockbuster war film, only you’ll be in this one!

The single-player campaign here has a great story, with my only complaint of it being that it is a bit short, as you can play through it in roughly 5-hours or so. Considering the fact that it is stacked with quality though, this seems like it is of good length to be quite honest.

There is a bit more outside of the campaign mode in regards to single-player gameplay with the Special Ops missions, as there are four sets of them in total that can be changed in regards to difficulty settings.

These missions are a lot of fun and add a great variety to the experience, as well as more value to the title.

The real highlight of this game comes in the form of the online multi-player, which will allow you to jump online in battles with up to 18 people.

This is the most impressive multi-player game of all time, without a doubt. The game is an absolute blast, as there are plenty of online modes for you to play around in, including Search and Destroy, Capture the Flag, Free-For-Alls, and much more.

The level of online play here will blow you away as you will find yourself logging endless hours of gameplay here, building up your rank, earning new skills, taking part in clans, etc.

This is one game that you will be playing online for years to come to be honest, it is really that damn good!

In regards to the gameplay, the game plays pretty much exactly as it did in the original game, but this is not a bad thing by any means.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, and the original game was not broken at all in reagrds to the way it played out. The game is extremely smooth and ituitive, and is one of the best playing shoters on any console to date.

There really is not much I can do to knock this game off of its perch. This one is certainly in the running for game of the year, and is absolutely the best shooter of the year. Call of Duty fans rejoice, Modern Warfare 2 is here, and it kicks some major tail, go buy it now!

Graphics: 9.5 Looks absolutely unbelievable, best-looking shooter ever.
